چکیده

We report the detection of radio QPOs with structure changes using the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) at 43 GHz. We found conspicuous patterned changes of the structure with P = 16.8, 22.2, 31.4,&56.4 min, roughly in a 3 : 4 : 6 : 10 ratio. The first two periods show a rotating one-arm structure, while the P = 31.4 min shows a rotating 3-arm structure, as if viewed edge-on. At the central 50μas the P = 56.4 min period shows a double amplitude variation of those in its surroundings. Spatial distributions of the oscillation periods suggest that the disk of Sgr A∗ is roughly edgeon, rotating around an axis with PA = −10◦. Presumably, the observed VLBI images of Sgr A∗ remain several features of the black hole accretion disk of Sgr A∗ in spite of being obscured and broadened by scattering of surrounding plasma.

Merging between a central massive black hole and a compact stellar system: A clue to the origin of M31’s nucleus

The central bulge of M31 is observed to have two distinct brightness peaks with the separation of ∼ 2 pc. Tremaine (1995) recently proposed a new idea that the M31’s nucleus is actually a single thick eccentric disk surrounding the central super-massive black hole. In order to explore the origin of the proposed eccentric disk, we numerically investigate the dynamical evolution of a merger betwe...

A New Approach for Probing Circumbinary Disks

Circumbinary disks are considered to exist in a wide variety of astrophysical objects, e.g., young binary stars, protoplanetary systems, and massive binary black hole systems in active galactic nuclei (AGNs). However, there is no definite evidence for the circumbinary disk except for some in a few young binary star systems. In this Letter, we study possible oscillation modes in circumbinary dis...

Is there really a super - massive black - hole in M 87 ? ⋆

We present the first HST long-slit spectrum of a gaseous disk around a candidate super-massive black-hole. The results of this study on the kinematics of the gaseous disk in M87 are a considerable improvement in both spatial resolution and accuracy over previous observations and requires a projected mass of MBH(sin i) 2 = (2.0 ± 0.5)×109M⊙ (MBH = 3.2×10 9M⊙ for a disk inclination i = 52 ) conce...

Gas fueling and nuclear gaseous disk formation in merging between a central massive black hole and a gas clump

We numerically investigate dynamical evolution of a merger between a central massive black hole (MBH) and a gas clump with the mass of 10 − 10 M⊙ in the central tens pc of a galactic bulge. We found that strong tidal gravitational field of the MBH transforms the initial spherical clump into a moderately thick gaseous disk (or torus) around the MBH. The developed disk is also found to show rotat...

Quasi-Periodic Oscillations in Numerical Simulation of Accretion Flows Around Black Holes

We present results of several numerical simulations of two dimensional axisymmetric accretion flows around black holes using the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). We consider both stellar black holes and as well as supermassive black holes. We assume bremsstrahlung to be the only source of cooling as it is simpler to implement in numerical simulations. We observe that due to both radial an...
